This biggin is two months old already!

*Is all smiles, especially when she wakes up in the morning.
*Eats only breast milk 7 times per day.  Eats ever three hours during the day and one time at night, usually around 4:30.
*Is awake most of the morning and takes a long nap in the afternoon.  Is awake off and on in the evenings.
*Still taking a pacifier and loves her baths!
*Had her first trip to the swimming pool and enjoyed it for a short time.

Great Bend Part 3

The main reason we all went to Great Bend was for the baptism of Lucy and Savannah.  We had it at the same church that my sisters and I were all baptised at.

Lucy met Papa Dot for the first time.
Proud Mom and Dad.  Lucy's baptismal gown was the same one Lilly wore, which my mom made from part of her wedding dress.  The blanket was the same one used at my baptism.
The whole family.
Grant and Abby will serve as Lucy's godparents.

John's parent made the trip all the way from Holton to be part of the special day.
Just a cute pic I had to throw in!
All of the "Shirk" girls!
We had such a great weekend!  8 adults and 4 toddlers/babies in one house can be stressful but being around family makes it all worth it!

Great Bend Part 2

Day 2 took us to the Barton County Fair to visit the animals and then to my uncle's airport hanger.  Lilly was so excited to see the airplanes and hasn't stopped talking about flying!
This plane is an antique that my aunt bought out in California to bring home and restore. Apparently it was one of only a few made and was originally built in Salina!

Lilly acted like she was flying and then waved to people as she flew by!
She thought she was pretty big stuff when she got to climb inside Tony's crop duster.  She keeps asking when she can go back and actually fly with him.  Hopefully she will get to sometime.
Avery wasn't to into the airplanes but he sure enjoyed the "tractor."

The rest of the family arrived Friday evening and Lucy and Savannah spent some quality time together on the playmat.

Great Bend Part 1

Lilly and I were supposed to go to Great Bend for a week last Monday, but finally made it on Wednesday after I got sick.  Luckily we still had lots of time to spend with Avery and Nana before the rest of the family showed up on Friday night.  We kept the little ones busy, starting with a trip to Vet's to play on the toys and feed the ducks.

We had just heard from a cute little old lady that the swans were very friendly and tame.  BENDERS BEWARE! These birds are tame, and friendly, but also absolutely NUTS! The big one in this picture had a good foot on my daughter when he stretched his neck out.  He actually walked right up to her and snatched a whole piece of bread right out of her hand!  At one point we threw bread and ran at the same time!
The geese were a little more appreciative of our food and not so greedy.
Even from the dock the swans were a little scary!
This one actually bit my shoe!

Many more pictures to come!

Hanna Time

After Lilly's birthday party, Hanna stayed for a few days to play with Lilly and watch Lucy for me while I went to volleyball camp.  It is always a treat for us to have her around, but I think the biggest treat for Lilly, is getting to play with Jack!
He is such a good watch dog!  He even got to sleep in Lilly's bed this time.
Lilly tried out her new birthday presents.  She kept asking me to put on my bikini and join her.  Fat chance kid!
Dad and Lucy enjoyed some shade while Lilly played.

The Birthday Party

 You're invited!
Well, maybe not, because the party was last weekend.
Lilly chose a Minnie Mouse theme.  Here is her cake, which I must say looked pretty good until it got hot and humid in the house and the frosting started to slide off!
We also had dipped pretzels, dipped marshmallows, and sugar cookies.

 The entire spread.
Prior to her "I need a nap," meltdown she opened lots of presents,
had to grunt and work hard on a couple of them.
 waited patiently,
enjoyed being the center of attention,
 blew out three big ones,
and chowed down with her buddies!
Once again, Happy Birthday Little Miss Lilly!
