Just Precious

Not Impressed

It got a little to quiet the other day when I was cleaning.  Turns out someone had gotten a chair from her playroom, climbed a kitchen cabinet, and helped herself to a stamp that I had strategically stashed where she couldn't reach it.  Miss Lilly was covered head to toe, and even had some on her clothes. Guess I need a new hiding place.  She would appear to be proud of herself!

Birthday Take 1

John, Lilly, Lucy, and I celebrated Lilly's birthday, just the four of us, last night with Mac and Cheese, presents, and cake.  It was a nice little party which will be followed up with her big family/friends party this weekend.

Lilly got new toy tractors, complete with round baler and hay bale, from her dad, a pink lawn chair, some bath goodies, and a pair of KSU shorts from her mom and sister.
She reported the chair and her tractors were her favorite!  Shortly after opening presents, John and Lilly were on the floor of the kitchen playing "hay harvest," complete with pasture and hay barn.  I think this really made his day!
Lucy is not has big as she looks in the picture!

John and I sang Happy Birthday,
 she took a deep breath,
got all three in one blow,
 got some love from dad,
and finished it up with a "cheese" from mom!

The Birthday Girl!

I going to sound like every other parent, and say, I can't believe this little lady is 3!

And now for a little trip down memory lane......

A Weekend for Dads

Father's Day weekend was a bit of a jam packed blur of two days for us.  We managed to spend time with both sides of the family and attend a birthday party for one of Lilly's friends.  Somehow, out of all the pictures I took, there are none with the dads.
First up: load up the car by 8:30 Saturday morning and head to Olathe to see my parents, Abby, Adam, Avery, Savannah, Hanna, and Grant.

Nana Bobbi took in some quality baby Lucy time.  The little stinker slept all day and then was awake ALL NIGHT!  Thanks mom!
Lilly and Avery always play so well together!
 Grant doing a little teaching.
 Cheesy smiles for all!
And finally, a little sand box fun.  Lilly and Avery were both close to loosing it when we left at 4.  Naps were a necessity for both!
We went straight to the birthday party when we got back to Holton and it was 8:30 by the time we got home that night.  It was a long day, followed by a long night for John and me with a wide awake baby.

Sunday morning brought more family time (John's family), both at church and lunch afterwards. I am not sure who was more crabby when nap time rolled around, the adults or the kids.  Luckily we got both kids to nap at the same time and John and I were also able to sleep!

It is always nice to find a way to celebrate with both sides of out family.  It doesn't always work out so well since we are so spread out.  In the end, it was a great (and exhausting) weekend with some much needed family time.

1 Month!

The little squirt is one month old!

At one month Lucy Jane:
* weighs 9 pounds 2 ounces (Lilly weighed this at 5 weeks) 50%ile
* is 21 inches long (same for Lilly) 50%ile
* eats every 3 hours during the day, usually on me
* beginning to stretch it out to 4.5 hours between bottle feedings at night (had to go to the bottle because she wouldn't stay awake to eat).
* can roll tummy to back over the right shoulder
* hates the swing and carseat
* goes quickly from calm to raging mad when she needs to burp or poop
* almost out of newborn diapers, and fitting nicely into newborn clothes.  Has a few 3 month dresses that fit.
* beginning to make eye contact
* recently moved to sleeping in her crib at night

Miss Lucy

Here is just one of the many awesome newborn pictures we had taken of Lucy.  It's never to early to start sporting the K-State purple!

Diva Times Three

The three amigos, Zoe, Olivia, and Lilly are together again!  This time, dance class!  Leave it to my kid to wear her skirt like a ding dong, and yes she came out of class wearing it like this!  I am guessing her teacher was impressed!

A First

Miss Lucy took her first nap in the crib on Tuesday.  She did so well that I also started putting her in the crib for several hours per night.  She doesn't sleep very sound so I am awake quite a bit during the night listening to her grunt and pur.  I am hoping moving her out of my room will help me get a little more sleep!  She looks so tiny in the bog 'ole crib.

Tiny Little Ladybugs

We had a quick little photo shoot with Lucy's buddy Clara today.  Clara's mommy is a coworker, neighbor, and good friend of mine and I am convinced Clara and Lilly will be pals as well.  Clara had quite the entrance into the world.  Jennifer (her momma) was due several weeks after me, but Clara was born one week earlier than Lucy.  Because of IUGR (google it), she was born at 34 weeks.  She is home now and weighs a whopping 4 pounds and is 18 inches of teeny tiny cuteness!
The girls coincidently have matching ladybug outfits.  Clara is gradually growing into her premie size and Lucy is busting out of her newborn size!  Cute cute cute!

It's Birthday Season

The summer is birthday time for the kids in our family as well as a couple of Lilly's friends.
Raegan, John's niece, had a cowgirl themed party complete with donkey's.  Lilly loves animals, and these donkeys were no exception.  Miniature donkeys to brush and a full size to ride!

 Ride 'em cowgirl!

2 Weeks!

Miss Lucy is two weeks old already!  Things are going well for us at home and I can honestly say we are close to having an actual routine.  We no longer have to go for daily weight checks, since she got back to birth weight within 2 weeks, and don't have to go back for a checkup until she is two months.  Here are just a couple pics to show how big she has gotten!

Two days old!                                                                      Two weeks old!

Stats:
8 pounds 1.5 ounces (50th percentile)
20.5 inches long (50th percentile)
Eating every three hours
Usually awake for 30-45 minutes after eating

Playtime

Someone is a little confused about which toys are hers and which ones are Lucy's.  I am sure this is normal but it is driving me NUTS!

She has also taken quite an interest in the blocks Nana Bobbi and Papa got her for Christmas.  I came out of the bedroom the other day and found this.....
a great big tower and a two year old standing on a chair.  Not a big deal I suppose....
until she went into her playroom,  got one of her toy chairs, and put it on top of the other chair.  Scared me so much I didn't manage to get a picture!
