In Memory of...

Coley Boley
My dear kitty left us one year ago today. He was such a great cat. John got him for me as a birthday gift during my first year of Grad school. I was living alone for the first time and needed a buddy. He was far from perfect, but a great companion. He was always there when I got home from school. He bit, he scratched, he hissed when he was mad. He didn't like strangers but warmed up eventually. He peed random places when he got really mad. He threw up countless times in my car when when made trips to Great Bend.
However, he cuddled and purred in the best way. He slept in my bed every night, often times right next to my head on my pillow. He would sit outside the shower in the mornings and wait for the door to open so he could lick the water off the floor. He drank out of the kitchen sink faucet. He hated my mother-in-law. He even left a bruise on her when he bit her ass. It would have been really funny if I didn't already have a matching bruise. He had a way of just making you feel better. Coley I wish you were still with us, Lilly would love you as much as I did.

Dirty Girl

My kid loves to play outside. After a recent rain Lilly and I went out to play. She managed to find every puddle of water. She splashed and splashed and drank some water. She put handfuls of water on her head like she was washing her hair. She covered herself in mud, but smiled the whole time!
Ooohhh look Mama a leaf!
Her wet bum and soaked saggy diaper didn't slow her down!
Hmmmm... deep in thought. She was trying to slide down her slide but her wet bum was causing her problems!

Like Her Momma!

I can't tell you how proud I was when I found Lilly in her room today!
She is just like her momma! Loves her shoes!

CRAP!

I was watching Lilly play today and this is what I saw. She likes to climb into her walker herself so I wasn't that alarmed by this.
But when she stood on the back of it I kinda got worried.
And this followed. Right up onto the bar stool.
I was worried that she was going to climb up onto the bar but the bar stool was pushed under the bar too far and she couldn't stand up. After this I pushed the stool and her toy far enough apart she couldn't reach. She pushed as hard as she could to move the stool with no success. I guess I am safe until she figures out she can push her toy a lot easier.

Summer Fun

Lilly and I ventured out for a walk around town with her new wagon. It was a hit. She loved it. Everyone we passed loved it. And most importantly I loved it. It was actually easier to get around with than her stroller. She carried the water bottle for us. The new park in town is complete and Lilly and I try to stop by three or four times a week to play. Lilly and her cousin Raegan were just two of the many many kids who had their foot and hand prints made into tiles as a fund raiser. They are displayed all around the perimeter of the park.

Lilly climbs all around by herself.

She is getting so big!

Birthday Part 2

We had Lilly's second birthday celebration with Nana Bobbi, Papa Layne, and Auntie Hanna about a week ago. I am really slow getting blogs written these days. Lilly got a super neat wagon from her Nana and Papa. She even helped her daddy put it together. Auntie Hanna helped about as much as usual :) She always tends to take more of a supervisory role.
We considered trying out the wagon as a boat before putting the wheels on!
