Father's Day weekend was a bit of a jam packed blur of two days for us. We managed to spend time with both sides of the family and attend a birthday party for one of Lilly's friends. Somehow, out of all the pictures I took, there are none with the dads.
First up: load up the car by 8:30 Saturday morning and head to Olathe to see my parents, Abby, Adam, Avery, Savannah, Hanna, and Grant.
Nana Bobbi took in some quality baby Lucy time. The little stinker slept all day and then was awake ALL NIGHT! Thanks mom!
Lilly and Avery always play so well together!
Grant doing a little teaching.
Cheesy smiles for all!
And finally, a little sand box fun. Lilly and Avery were both close to loosing it when we left at 4. Naps were a necessity for both!
We went straight to the birthday party when we got back to Holton and it was 8:30 by the time we got home that night. It was a long day, followed by a long night for John and me with a wide awake baby.
Sunday morning brought more family time (John's family), both at church and lunch afterwards. I am not sure who was more crabby when nap time rolled around, the adults or the kids. Luckily we got both kids to nap at the same time and John and I were also able to sleep!
It is always nice to find a way to celebrate with both sides of out family. It doesn't always work out so well since we are so spread out. In the end, it was a great (and exhausting) weekend with some much needed family time.
